- ½ tsp cherry syrup from CherryMan maraschino cherries jar
- 3oz cream cheese
- ¼ tsp almond extract
- 2½ - 3c confectioners sugar
- Parchment paper
- Food coloring (optional)
In a small mixing bowl, add cream cheese, cherry syrup, almond extract and optional food coloring of your choice. Beat until well combined.
Add 1½ cups of the confectioners sugar to mixing bowl and beat on low until no powder remains, then increase speed for an additional 3 minutes.
Lightly powder work surface with confectioners sugar and knead in remaining confectioners sugar until you have achieved a soft playdoh-like consistency and the dough is no longer sticky.
Shape dough into ½ inch balls and place on parchment paper. Flatten with bottom of decorative glass for this vintage look, or flatten with fork to create a crosshatch pattern.
Allow to stand 1-2 hours to harden. Store in airtight containers in refrigerator.
